artist submissions
Thank you for your interest in being a part of dandelion wishes! We wish we could respond personally to every inquiry - but as a small shop with an even smaller staff, we have learned that is not realistic.
However, please know that either the shop owner, Heidi, or shop manager, Dana, personally look at every submission we receive. If we think your work might be a good fit for our shop - either now or in the future - or if we have other suggestions for you, we promise we will reach out to you. As emails are often lost in the shuffle, we highly recommend using the form below to ensure that your submission is seen.
Please keep in mind that we are not able to carry everything - no matter how wonderful it is! It may be that we already have a similar product, or it may be that it is just not the right fit for our shop and our customers.
Our primary focus is items handmade - or small batch made - in North America. It is not possible to define what exactly we look for in a product. Having been around American Handcrafted work since I was 7 years old, a lot of my choices come from my gut and intuition (thanks, mom!). The best way to understand what we carry is to visit the shop in person and see for yourself. If you are not local, you can browse our Instgram feed. We do not carry leather products (unless it is upcycled) or pearls. We avoid plastic whenever possible.
Most of the work we carry is on a wholesale basis, and we require a minimum of a 2x markup for our wholesale products. This is what we need to be able to keep the lights on and pay our staff a fair wage. We carry very select local work on a 60/40 consignment basis (60% to the artist).
We attend MADE Our Show in Baltimore every year. Other wholesale shows we sometimes attend include Urban Craft Uprising (Seattle), New England Made, Shoppe Object, and NYNOW. We try to go to both ACC Baltimore and Field & Supply, both of which are retail shows. You are welcome to reach out to us before any of those shows with your booth # if you plan to be there.
